The 2021 Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSA) allows for temporary changes in eligibility for Child Care Subsidy.
Job Search for Loss of Employment due to COVID-19
Low-income Missouri families are unemployed due to COVID-19 are eligible to receive a temporary Child Care Subsidy benefit for job search. The time frame for this benefit is 60 days. The benefit is available for applications received June 1 2021 through September 30, 2022. Families that apply must indicate that they have had a loss of employment due to COVID-19 and must agree that they are searching for work. This criteria will be verified by client statement and must be documented in FAMIS comments in both FM3Z/EUMEMROL and FMAC/CCNEED.
In FAMIS, the Child Care Need (FMAC/CCNEED) screen requires each parent in the eligibility unit to have the Employment Loss COVID (ELC) code entered as the reason for need. Client statement will be accepted as verification.
