1210.020.15.45 NON-TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE JOB SEARCH

Through the American Recovery Reinvestment Act (ARRA), the Child Care Assistance program is temporarily implementing an upfront job search need for Non-Temporary Assistance (Non-TA) Eligibility Units (EUs). The Non-TA Job Search need will be allowed while ARRA funding is available or until September 30, 2011, whichever occurs first. This job search need will not be available for applicants participating in Temporary Assistance Immediate Engagement Job Search.

Non-TA individuals applying for child care stating that their need is job search shall be coded as Job Search by the Eligibility Specialist. The Non-TA Job Search will be allowed for a maximum of eight (8) consecutive weeks. When authorizing child care due to job search need for non-TANF EUs, staff should place begin and end dates on the child’s authorization, which is not to exceed 60 days. The authorization should not exceed 8 weeks. Verification of job search activities during the eight weeks of NTA Job Search eligibility is waived.

The system will automatically close the authorization at the end of the 8 week period and send a notice to the EU.

NOTE: This job search component is not associated with the Job Search referred to in the Temporary Assistance Program. TA Immediate Engagement policies have not changed.
