Based on suggestions from Food and Nutrition
Services and field staff, the automated form IM-32A, Notice of Expiration
(NOE), was revised. The new format was effective with the August
mailing. The changes are as follows:

The statement to remind households the return
address must show in the window envelope is moved from the bottom of the
NOE and placed at the top of the page in the first paragraph.

A statement is added to notify households
if reapplication is not made before the end of the current certification
period, benefits will be prorated.

A sentence is added to the section "To Reapply,
You Must:" to notify the household of its responsibility to reschedule
missed interviews.

The sentence in the last paragraph that reads
"Be sure to provide a phone number and time when you can be reached for
an interview" is emphasized through use of capital letters and bold print.
Attached is a sample copy of the automated
NOE. Destroy/recycle the automated IM-32A with a revision date of 04/13/00.
File the automated IM-32A revised 08/17/00 and the form instructions in
the IM Forms Manual.
