Transaction Codes

Effective immediately new transaction codes are used in (CARS).  A new code sheet is being developed and will be distributed in the next few months.  Until the code sheet is ready, the list provided includes the current transaction codes used on the OVPT screen.

Error Messages

Error code numbers that appeared in the lower left section of all CARS screens are replaced with actual messages.  These are the same messages that were previously used.  The messages assist staff in understanding the error on the entry quicker and reduces the amount of time required to fix problems.

Edit Messages

An edit on the OVCC screen appears if county staff attempt to make a change on claims with referral source code of 90, 91, 92, and 93.  The edit will advise users that only the Central Office CARS unit can make the change.  To make changes to these claims, send the appropriate information regarding the change to the Central Office CARS Unit, PO Box 1527, Jefferson City, Missouri 65109.

More changes are coming regarding CARS policy and procedures.  A memorandum will be issued with each change.
