DELETION OF EBT PHOTOS
 
DISCUSSION:
Effective immediately, Benefit Security Card photos that are over 65 days old and have not been used are deleted.  An "N" appears in the "Photo Sent" field in EBTU for these cases.  The photo deletion file will be completed every month.

If the participant reapplies for Temporary Assistance cash or food stamp benefits, the photo must be retaken and stored or a photo exemption code must be entered.  EBTU will show a photo is not stored, and FSU5 will not allow an approval to be completed without a photo or photo exemption code.  Cash benefits that are not direct deposited and are issued without a Benefit Security Card will pend, and the participant will not be able to access them.
 
NECESSARY ACTION:
  • Discuss this memorandum with all appropriate staff. 

    •  
  • Verify a photo or a photo exemption code is on file for all initial applications. 

    •  
  • Capture and store photos for all participants who have never had a Benefit Security Card or whose photo was deleted.
