TWO-PARENT POLICY CHART
 
DISCUSSION:
The attached chart illustrates current policy for families receiving Temporary Assistance when a second, able-bodied, parent returns to the home.  It is assumed, for purposes of illustration, that no one in the family has income other than the Temporary Assistance grant.

Policy for determining whether a child is deprived of parental support reflects changes made by implementation of Senate Bill 387.  Refer to memorandum IM-#118, dated 8-27-99 for more information about this policy.

Policy for determining who is included in the Temporary Assistance group is unchanged.  Refer to IMNL 0210.005.05.
 
NECESSARY ACTION:
  • Discuss this memorandum with appropriate staff.

  • Ensure that all staff responsible for determining Temporary Assistance eligibility have a copy of the attached chart.
