An individual has a statutory right to request a hearing.  If an individual inquires about his or her right to an appeal, do NOT discourage the person from requesting the hearing.  It is appropriate to answer the individual's questions about the appeal process and to resolve the individual's complaint if possible.  However, it is inappropriate to talk the person out of having a hearing. 

MC+ approval notices have a section to enter the new MC+ Service Representative's address and telephone number. Complete this section on all approvals.  It is particularly important for phone centers to record the county office's telephone number where the case will be.

Discuss this memorandum with appropriate staff.
