The Type of Assistance codes set out in
memorandum IM-#15 dated January 24, 2000, to identify categorically eligible
households/individuals in FSU5 have been added to IMNL and FSU5 instructions.
Enter the categorical eligibility Type of Assistance code in field 26 in
FSU5 for individuals identified as categorically eligible as follows:

Enter Type of Assistance code "C" in field
26 of FSU5 for any houshold member who receives or is authorized to receive
Temporary Assistance cash benefits.

Enter the Type of Assistance codes "I", "R",
"S", and "F" in field 26 in FSU5 only for household members who are receiving
benefits as identified for those Type of Assistance codes.

Enter Type of Assistance code "E" in field
26 of FSU5 for each household member who is categorically eligible because
any household member recives or is authorized to recieve Temporary Assistance
cash or one of the support services described in IMNL Section 1135.035.00.
Only code individuals with "E" Type of Assistance
code if they are not categorically eligible under one of the other Type
of Assistance codes. Use the following examples as a guide in determining
which Type of Assistance code to use in field 26 of
FSU5:

If receiving Temporary Assistance and Child
Care, code the individual as "C."

If receiving SSI and Foster Care, code the
individual as "I."

If receiving SAB and in a household with Temporary
Assistance cash recipients, code the individual as "F."
