EBT SYSTEM OUTAGES
 
DISCUSSION:
There are two planned EBT system outages scheduled this month.

The EBT system is scheduled for maintenance on January 21, 2001, from 1:00 - 6:00 a.m.  The maintenance requires bringing down part of the EBT system.  Cash transactions cannot be completed while the system is down.

Manual vouchers for food stamp transactions will be available during this outage.  Emergency vouchers WILL NOT be in effect.

The EBT system is scheduled to be upgraded on January 24, 2001, from 2:00 - 4:00 a.m.  The upgrade requires bringing down the system to install the enhancements.  The upgrade allows faster and more effective service for EBT participants.

Transactions, including balance inquiries and voucher authorizations, cannot be processed.  Participants will receive the message "host unavailable" when attempting to complete transactions during this time.  

Emergency vouchers for food stamp transactions will be in effect up to $40.00.  Cash transactions cannot be completed until the upgrade is complete.  eFunds is notifying retailers and third party processors.

     
 
NECESSARY ACTION:
  • Discuss this memorandum with all appropriate staff.
  • Explain the EBT outages to participants who contact the county office regarding the availability of the EBT system.
