MEDICAL SUPPORT REQUIREMENTS FOR TRANSITIONAL MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
IM MANUAL REVISION #22: FAMILY HEALTHCARE 
 
DISCUSSION:
Effective immediately, Transitional Medical Assistance (TMA) and Extended Transitional Medical Assistance (ETMA) recipients are not required to cooperate with the Division of Child Support Enforcement (DCSE) in obtaining medical support.  TMA and ETMA are time-limited programs and thus exempt from the on-going obligation to pursue medical support per a clarification from the Health Care Financing  Administration dated December 19, 2000. 

Section 0910.015.00 and 0910.040.00 of the Family Healthcare manual have been revised to reflect this change.
 
NECESSARY ACTION:
  • Share this memorandum with all appropriate staff.
  • File the revised Section 0910.015.00 and 0910.040.00 in the Family Healthcare manual.
