DISCUSSION:
On February 17, 2009, the President signed into law the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). This memorandum addresses the $25 stimulus increase in Unemployment Compensation Benefits.
Effective immediately a new unearned income code US-Unemployment Compensation/Stimulus Increase is added to FAMIS. IMES shows the $25 stimulus increase as a separate payment from the normal unemployment compensation check. On the Income (FMX0) screen continue to enter normal unemployment compensation as type code UI with source code UC. Enter the $25 stimulus payment as type code UI with source code US.
FAMIS determines whether the $25 stimulus increase is included or excluded for each program as follows:
