- SUBJECT:
- UNINSURED WOMEN’S HEALTH SERVICES PARTICIPANT CODED DISABLED IN FAMIS
DISCUSSION:
Effective April 6, 2009, when an Uninsured Women's Health Services (UWHS) applicant or participant is coded as disabled on the Disabled (FMMX) screen, FAMIS will automatically register a MO HealthNet for the Aged, Blind, and Disabled (MHABD) application in the Legacy system.
Reason codes that initiate an MHABD application from the UWHS program are:
CNE DISABILITY CLAIMED/NOT YET ESTABLISHEDPMR MRT – PENDING
SSD RECEIVES SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY
SSI RECEIVES SSI
Ineligibility for any other MO HealthNet program is an eligibility requirement for UWHS. Therefore, if a UWHS participant is claiming a disability, eligibility for MHABD must be explored. The participant can be approved for UWHS while exploring eligibility for MHABD. If the participant is found eligible for MHABD, close the UWHS case and approve for MHABD.
