TA WORKER INITIATED BUDGET CALCULATIONS AREA (FMXR) UPDATE

DISCUSSION:

Effective September 7, 2009 a new field titled "Earned Income Reported Timely (Y/N)" is added to the TA Worker Initiated Budget Calculations Area (FMXR) screen.  This field is used for Temporary Assistance (TA) claim budgets only.

When entering a budget on the TA Worker Initiated Budget Calculations Area (FMXR) screen for a TA claim, enter 'Y' in the Earned Income Reported Timely field if the TA participant reported the earned income within required time frames.  When a 'Y' is entered, the $90 Standard Work Expense is calculated in the budget.  The Eligibility Specialist (ES) must update the remaining fields on this screen, including the Dependent Care Expense (Dep Care Expense) and Disregard Type fields, as appropriate.

If the TA participant did not report earned income within the required time frames, enter 'N' in the Earned Income Reported Timely field.  When a 'N' is entered, the $90 Standard Work Expense is not considered in the budget.

If an 'N' is entered in the 'Earned Income Reported Timely' field and a Dependent Care Expense or a Disregard Type is entered, the message "DC Exp/Disregards must be blank if 'N' entered in 'Reported Timely'" displays.  Dependent care expenses and other earned income disregards are not allowed if the earned income is not reported timely to the Family Support Division (FSD).

When entering a TA budget other than a claim on the TA Worker Initiated Budget Calculations Area (FMXR) screen, the Earned Income Reported Timely field does not budget the $90 Standard Work Expense.
