DISCUSSION:
Effective immediately, income source NI – Nursing Home Insurance for income type UI-Unearned Income is added to FAMIS. Individuals who have a Nursing Home Insurance Policy may receive daily payments for services such as home health aides, adult day care, assisted living facilities and nursing home care. This income is paid to the institutionalized individual, community spouse, or other beneficiary. The unearned income is included for MO HealthNet, Food Stamps, Temporary Assistance, and Child Care programs.
FAMIS ENTRY:
Enter nursing home insurance income as income type UI – Unearned Income and source code NI – Nursing Home insurance on the Income (FMX0) screen in FAMIS.
The FAMIS INCOME CODE CHART has been updated to include this income.
Income Maintenance Manual sections 0210.015.05, 0805.015.30, 0905.012.60.05 and Food Stamp Manual section 1115.010.00 have been updated to include this information.
