MEMORANDUM

DISCUSSION:

Effective May 1, 2010, CTS LanguageLink is no longer the contractor for interpretive services. Language Select is the new contractor. Language Select provides the same over the phone interpretive services as CTS LanguageLink. Language Select does not utilize an interactive voice response system.

An initial supply of Language Select posters will be mailed to each office to replace the CTS Language Link posters. Contact Jennifer Heimericks with the Program & Policy Unit if additional posters are needed. [Jennifer.K.Heimericks@dss.mo.gov or 573-522-2390]

Attached is a “How To” guide that describes how to utilize Language Select interpretive services. This can be printed and hung in interview rooms and/or offices. The “How To” guide can also be found under the Quick Links section on the right hand column of the FSD Intranet page.

To access Language Select, dial 888-546-7703 and provide the representative with the language you require, your access code [6899 for IM staff; 6900 for CSE staff.], location, and worker number. Your location is the county office where you are located. Once this information is provided, you will be connected to an interpreter.

EXAMPLE: Molly Sands calls Language Select and tells the representative she needs a Spanish speaking interpreter for access code 6899 and that she is based in Cole County with a worker number of 12345.

NECESSARY ACTION:

• Review this memorandum with appropriate staff.
• Replace the CTS Language Link posters with the Language Select posters.
• Effective May 1, 2010, use Language Select for interpretive services.
• Discard all information related to CTS LanguageLink or any other over the phone interpreter services provider.
