DISCUSSION:
Effective January 1, 2010, the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008 eliminated the estate recovery requirement for Qualified Medicare Beneficiary and Specified Low Income Medicare Beneficiary programs. The IM-1MA MO HealthNet Application/Eligibility form is revised to reflect this change. A new sentence “This does not apply to Qualified Medicare Beneficiary and Specified Low Income Medicare Beneficiary programs” has been added following the statement regarding estate recovery.
The IM-IMA PDF and WORD versions have been updated in the Forms Manual on the Intranet and additional supplies may be ordered through the Warehouse. Replace all previous versions.
