- SUBJECT:
- FAMIS AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE CHANGES
DISCUSSION:
Since the implementation of MOHealthNet for Aged, Blind, and Disabled in FAMIS in October 2009, two separate processes allowing authorized representatives to be added to the system have simultaneously existed. Effective December 20, 2010, the following changes are made to FAMIS authorized representative screens to consolidate these processes:
- The Representative screen (FMMP) and Select Representative screen (FMMQ) screens are removed from FAMIS. All existing authorized representative data, including address and phone information, appear on the Representative List screen (FMJ1) and Representative Detail screen (FMJG).
- The Missouri FAMIS Technical Information Menu (FMMH) and the user-friendly transaction code “AUTHREP” may be used to access the Representative List screen, in addition to the transaction ID FMJ1.
- The fields “Receive Correspondence(Y/N)” and “Public Administrator (Y/N)” are removed from the Representative Detail screen (FMJG). The fields did not impact notice addresses or on-screen edits in any way. The rules and programming for these two fields are not complete, and they will be added as an enhancement upon completion.
- An issue allowing Representative Role BTH – BOTH (apply and receive benefits) for FAM EUs is corrected. BOTH is not an option for FAM EUs as an authorized representative cannot access/receive MO HealthNet services on behalf of another individual. Authorized representatives can only apply on behalf of the EU/individual.
There is no change to EBT procedures. For Food Stamp and Temporary Assistance authorized representatives with a role of ABN – ACCESS BENEFITS or BTH – BOTH, the EBTU/EBTI screens still display the data most recently entered on the Representative Detail screen.
Field staff, in conjunction with Central Office staff, are developing a User Guide for the authorized representative process for all programs. All staff will be notified when the user guide is available.
NECESSARY ACTION:
