DISCUSSION:

The General Information manual has been updated.  Sections 0160.000.00 through 0165.005.00 have been added to include the policy on Safeguarding Federal Tax Information (FTI).  This policy consolidates all previous memos regarding the safeguarding of FTI and is to be followed immediately.

A new form, the IRS Notice Log, has been added to track FTI and the destruction of FTI.  The IRS Notice Log can be found in the IM-Forms manual.

The IRS Income Code Chart and a flow chart outlining the IRS match process can be found on the Family Support Division (FSD) Intranet, under IM Code Sheets in the “Quick Links” section on the right-hand side of the intranet page for each program.

As required by IRS, FSD staff must complete an annual training on safeguarding FTI.  This training is in the development process.  A separate memo will be sent when this training is available on the Employee Learning Center (ELC).
