DISCUSSION:
The Temporary Assistance/Case Management manual section 0270.025.00 regarding Teen Parents has been updated to clarify activities during the summer months when school is not in session. If the teen parent does not attend summer school, they must participate in another countable work activity.
In addition, section 0275.055.00 has been updated to clarify the definition of a teen parent in regards to the age of the teen parent and work participation activities. In Missouri, only Temporary Assistance (TA) recipients under age 18 are referred to as teen parents. However, work activities that are available to teen parents are also available to TA recipients under age 20.

- Review this memorandum with appropriate staff.
