DISCUSSION:
The purpose of this memorandum is to introduce the Missouri Promoting Food Security Plan. The Missouri Food Bank Association (MFBA), in partnership with participating food banks, will assist clients in completing and submitting Food Stamp applications and will supply application and education materials to individuals accessing participating agencies such as food pantries, shelters, and kitchens.
FSD offices, in the counties listed in the table below, can expect applications to be submitted with the assistance of the local food banks. County Managers will need to appoint someone in each county served to be a liaison with the participating food banks in their area. The liaison will be the contact person for the food banks. When the liaison is selected, send their contact information by email to Melanie Hickcox, SNAP Project Manager, at melanie@feedingmissouri.org.
