- CREDIBLE COVERAGE UNDER THE BLIND PENSION PROGRAM
DISCUSSION:
This memo is to alert staff of a change in the Participant Fee For Service Handbook that is published by the MOHealthNet Division (MHD).
MHD is in the process of updating the handbook to include a paragraph for participants receiving benefits under the Blind Pension program.
Participants in the Blind Pension (BP) program DO NOT have to enroll in a Medicare Part D plan. They will not be subject to a penalty if they lose their BP benefits in the future and then need to enroll in a Part D plan. A letter of Credible Coverage may be obtained by calling MHD at 1-800-392-2161.
NECESSARY ACTION:
- Review this memorandum with all staff.
