DISCUSSION:
The threshold amount established by the Social Security Administration (SSA) to determine eligibility under Section 1619 of the Social Security Act has increased to $2,598 monthly, effective January 1, 2012.
The threshold amount is used by the Family Support Division to identify Section 1619 cases in the Legacy system. When determining continued MO HealthNet eligibility for Section 1619 cases, there is no income limit for participants granted SSA 1619 status. If an individual’s gross income is greater than the threshold amount, reduce the gross earned income to $1 less than the threshold amount.
Effective January 1, 2012, enter $2,598 as the expense amount in Field 33 of IMU5 for Section 1619 cases. For cases currently receiving MO HealthNet using Section 1619 criteria, update the amount in Field 33 at the next regular contact with the participant or when next case action is taken.
