MEMORANDUM

DISCUSSION:

The purpose of this memorandum is to explain where to find the Monthly Management Reports on the Internet, and to remind staff how to submit a request for information to the Research and Evaluation (R & E) unit.

The Family Support Division (FSD) staff are frequently asked to provide information to students, community groups, and other individuals and organizations. Please refer them to the Monthly Management Reports on the Department of Social Services (DSS) web site for definitions of categories of assistance and types of MO HealthNet services, and program data.

Locate the link at the bottom of the DSS home page in the left-hand corner Caseload Counters and Reports. Selecting this link directs the user to the Reading Room. Selecting Reports in the middle of the page directs the user to Annual and Monthly Reports. Selecting Family Support Division/MO HealthNet Division Management Report directs the user to links to the 2010 to 2012 Monthly Management Reports. This information is available to the public, and is the appropriate referral for requests for information.

The R & E unit is part of the DSS Center for Management Information and its primary function is to provide statistics and reports to support the work of the DSS. Individuals and entities outside the FSD or DSS, may request special reports, but will be charged for the reports, and the request will be fulfilled only if the information is not published in the online reports, and when time is available.

Local FSD managers or supervisors may submit the Research and Evaluation Request form as needed to meet the work needs of the FSD, or at the request of outside individuals and entities subject to payment and time limitations. The R & E Unit will provide an estimate of the payment required from the outside individuals or entities after reviewing the Research and Evaluation Request form. The Research and Evaluation Request form is available in the Intranet Forms Manual Volume 2. Local FSD managers and supervisors should submit requests using this form to FAMIS.Reports@dss.mo.gov.
