- DISCONTINUE REPORTING FAMIS TO THE ONLINE HELP DESK
DISCUSSION:
Effective immediately, do not use the Online Help Desk (OHD) to report FAMIS issues. The Quarterly DSS Security Reminder emailed to all DSS staff from the DSS Information Security Officer on April 16, 2012, states “Online Help Desk(OHD) is a non-secure ticket system. Please remember confidential & sensitive information (SSN, Name & DOB etc) should never be placed in an OHD ticket.”
As disclosure of such confidential and sensitive information is necessary in order to correctly identify cases requiring assistance, field staff requesting assistance with a FAMIS case must continue to call 1-800-MOFAMIS.
FSD is working with ITSD to remove the Application Support/HD FAMIS Help Desk category from the OHD category selection dropdown list. In the meantime, discontinue use of this category of assistance with a FAMIS case.
NECESSARY ACTION:
- Review this memorandum with all appropriate staff.
- Immediately discontinue using the Online Help Desk (OHD) to report FAMIS issues.
