DISCUSSION:
This memorandum is to introduce the medical expense code TW-Ticket to Work Health Assurance (TWHA) premium. The TWHA paid premium is an allowable medical expense for the Food Stamp program.
Effective March 30, 2014 the medical expense type code “TW” has been added to the Medical Expense (MEDEXP/FMXA) screen in FAMIS. The new code will allow staff to budget the premium paid for the TWHA Program.
The MO HealthNet Division Premium Inquiry (MPNI) screen must be used to verify that the TWHA premium has been received and entered by the MO HealthNet (MHN) premium collections unit. MPNI will be the source for hard copy verification.
Prior to the new code being added, the HI-Health Insurance code was used for the TWHA premium. At next contact with the participant, review the Medical Expense (MEDEXP/FMXA) screen and end the HI code if it is being used for the TWHA premium deduction and enter the new code TW.
