DISCUSSION:
The purpose of this memorandum is to clarify policy on budgeting Blind Pension and Supplemental Aid to the Blind grant income in MEDES.
BP and SAB grants are considered an excludable income source per Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI). Currently MEDES is erroneously including BP and SAB grant income.
To ensure a correct eligibility determination in MEDES, enter BP and SAB as income evidence but leave the amount as zero.
NOTE: Enter a detailed note on the income evidence as well as the primary person page under the client contact tab, then under the notes tab.
NECESSARY ACTION:
- Review this memorandum with appropriate staff.
- Follow this process until BP and SAB is programmed correctly to be excluded in MEDES determinations.
