DISCUSSION:
The purpose of this memorandum is to inform staff of the increase in the MO HealthNet Personal Needs Allowance (PNA) to $50 per month.
NOTE: When a participant residing in a nursing facility receives less than the personal needs allowance in monthly income, the personal needs allowance will be equal to their monthly income. If a participant has no income, there is no personal needs allowance.
Effective January 1, 2015, the MO HealthNet Personal Needs Allowance (PNA) is increased to $50. A mass adjustment to FAMIS Vendor and SUPPLEMENTAL NURSING CARE (SNC) cases was completed the weekend of December 13, 2014 with the Cost of Living Adjustments.
FAMIS Vendor and SNC eligibility determinations for January 2015 and ongoing will use the new $50 PNA and will use the previous PNA of $45 for December 2014 and prior quarter months.
NECESSARY ACTION:
- Review this memorandum with appropriate staff.
- Begin using $50 PNA effective January 1, 2015.
