DISCUSSION:
The purpose of this memorandum is to introduce the new over the phone interpreter service. Effective July 1, 2015, CTS Language Link is no longer the contractor for interpretive services and the 1-800 number provided by their company will no longer be in service.
WorldWide Interpreters is the new contractor. WorldWide Interpreters provides over the phone interpretive services like those previously provided by CTS Language Link.
A Guide for Interpreter Service describing WorldWide Interpreters services is on the Resources tab under Translation Services of the Family Support Division Main Page.
Point to your Language posters to assist limited English proficient individuals are available to download and print. Email FSD.COLETAPOLICY@dss.mo.gov with requests for color copies.
To access WorldWide Interpreter services:
- Dial 1-800-207-1424;
- Provide your access code [34624 for IM staff],
- Press 1 or say Spanish for a ‘Spanish’ interpreter; press 2 or say ‘Operator’ for any other language.
Once this information is provided, you will be connected to an interpreter.
NECESSARY ACTION:
- Review this memorandum with appropriate staff.
- Effective July 1, 2015, use WorldWide Interpreters for interpretive services.
- Effective July 1, 2015, replace the CTS Language Link posters with the WorldWide Interpreters posters.
- Effective July 1, 2015, discard all information related to CTS Language Link or any other over the phone interpreter services provider.
