- INTRODUCTION OF BLIND PENSION (BP) AND SUPPLEMENTAL AID TO THE BLIND (SAB) PROCESSING CENTER
DISCUSSION:
The purpose of this memorandum is to notify staff of the centralized Blind Pension (BP) and Supplemental Aid to the Blind (SAB) processing center located in Troy, MO effective September 1, 2015. Any supercase with an active BP or SAB case should be transferred to the Troy PC (office code 05702). The county of residence will not be changed and will continue to reflect the actual county the participant resides in.
This memorandum discusses the following:
GOALS AND PURPOSE
The Troy PC will be the primary point of contact between the sight-impaired community and the Family Support Division. The goal of specializing the Troy PC is to provide complete, timely and accurate services for visually-impaired customers while collaborating with community partners to make a positive difference in the lives of Missouri’s visually impaired. The Troy PC will provide “wrap-around” services to BP and SAB participants for Food Stamps and all income maintenance (IM) programs, except MAGI cases in MEDES and Vendor cases. MAGI cases in MEDES and Vendor cases will continue to be processed by staff in the MEDES and Vendor offices.

LOCAL OFFICE RESPONSIBILITIES
BP and SAB participants may still use their local FSD office to drop off information, conduct interviews and hearings, and access other services. Information related to a BP/SAB case must be sent to the Troy PC through the Lincoln County SharePoint site, or by email to Lincoln.CoDFS@dss.mo.gov.
NECESSARY ACTION:
- Review this memorandum with appropriate staff.
- Effective September 1, 2015, begin transferring BP and SAB cases to the Troy PC.
