DISCUSSION:
What are ROBO text messages-
FSD has already implemented ROBO calls for reinvestigations and recertifications with success. We will now start ROBO text messages. A ROBO text message is simply an automated text message.
Samples of the text messages:
Watch for mail from FSD. Complete and return the yellow form by the due date. Failure to return puts your benefits at risk. Call 1-855-373-4636 if you need help.
Watch for mail from FSD. Complete and return enclosed form by the due date. Failure to return puts your benefits at risk. Call 1-855-373-4636 if you need help.
Who will get ROBO text messages-
The head of household will receive a text message, if he/she has selected to receive text messages from FSD and the PRSNDTL (FM0I) screen has been updated, when the following forms are mailed:
- FA-546 Food Stamp Mid-Cert Review
- FA-520 Food Stamp Notice of Expiration
- FA-202 Temporary Assistance Review
- FA-402 Medical Assistance Review
- FA-402A Medical Assistance Review
- FA-502 Child Care Recertification
Why will participants get ROBO text messages-
Text messages are a new way for FSD to reach our participants in a technology driven era. It allows participants to read their messages on their time and gives them a heads up on important information from FSD before the mail arrives.
When will participants receive the text messages -
This is effective November 22, 2015.
Text messages will be sent the first business day after the day the information is mailed. Example: Food Stamp Notice of Expiration is mailed the second weekend of the month, the Child Care Recertification forms are mailed on the 15th of each month and other mailings are sent on the 1st Saturday of the month. Each of these mailings will generate a text to be sent the next business day.
Where will the ROBO text messages be delivered-
The head of household will receive the text message, if he/she has opted to receive them. Customarily, a text message will be received on a smart/cell phone device.
How can participants choose to receive text messages-
An Eligibility Specialist will code the PRSNDTL (FM0I) screen in one of two ways:
Permission
Phone Type to Text
555 555 1234 C + Y -- sends call and text reminders to cell phone
555 555 6789 T + Y -- send reminders by text only; no reminder calls
555 555 7777 T + N -- allows us to capture text #; no text reminders
How can participants opt out-
If a participant does not want to receive ANY ROBO reminders (by text or phone) the Eligibility Specialist may go to the PRSNDTL (FM0I) screen and “X” next to the Opt Out field.
