ABAWD VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT
DISCUSSION:
This memo is to announce SkillUP as the new name of the Missouri Employment and Training Program (METP) for Food Stamp recipients. Revisions to forms and manual sections will be forthcoming.
In addition, this memo informs staff about the new IM-4 SkillUP flyer, which replaces the IM-4METP flyer. The IM-4 SkillUP flyer explains ABAWD requirements to maintain Food Stamp benefits, and gives all other Food Stamp recipients an opportunity to volunteer.
Changes:
- All offices with customer access must order the IM-4 SkillUP flyer and display. Upon posting the IM-4 SkillUP flyer, the IM-4METP flyer must be destroyed.
- The IM-4 SkillUP flyer will be mailed to new ABAWDs weekly with the ABAWD Volunteer Agreement. The ABAWD Volunteer Agreement gives ABAWDs three options to meet the required 80 hours to qualify for Food Stamps as an ABAWD. Instructions are included on the agreement.
NOTE: When a customer brings verification of hours into a resource center, staff must scan and email it to: DSS.FSD.Agreements@dss.mo.gov.
NECESSARY ACTION:
- Review this memorandum with appropriate staff.
- Replace METP with SkillUP when talking to customers.
- Begin using the SkillUP flyers immediately.
- Review the ABAWD Volunteer Agreement.
