MEMORANDUM

DISCUSSION:

This memorandum is to introduce policy clarification and revisions surrounding income.  Policy has been updated to clarify:

• Income Evidence, what sources are used to confirm self-attested income, the hierarchy of sources to use, how and when to request documentation verification, and zero income.  This can be found in the MAGI Policy Manual section, 1805.030.05 Income Evidence.
• Projecting Income, what it means to project income, how to handle fluctuating income, and when to apply actual budgets.  This can be found in the MAGI Policy Manual section, 1805.030.25.05 Projection of Income.
• Patterns of Income, the patterns of income, examples of when each pattern is used, how to convert each pattern of income into monthly amounts, and how to handle income that does not have a consistent pattern.  This can be found in the MAGI Policy Manual section, 1805.030.25.10 Patterns of Income.
