DISCUSSION:
This memorandum introduces policy clarification for uninsured children who have dropped health insurance in the previous six months.
Senate Bill 754 (2014) removed the penalty for dropping employer sponsored insurance or other private insurance. The change applies to both the premium and non-premium CHIP groups.
Review the policy updates in MAGI Policy Manual sections 1840.005.00 Legal Basis (CHIP) and 1840.010.10 Uninsured for further information.
