DISCUSSION:
Food Stamp Manual section 1115.035.25.15 has been updated to clarify receipt of energy assistance benefits by the EU in the past 12 months; this allows the EU to be eligible for the SUA, by removing the wording “residence”, per Food and Nutrition Service (FNS).
- The EU has received energy assistance in the past 12 months, even if the EU does not incur out-of-pocket expenses.
NECESSARY ACTION:
- Review this memorandum with appropriate staff.
