DISCUSSION:

The purpose of this memorandum is to clarify procedure when receiving an application for the buy-in programs from someone in Alternative Care through the Children’s Division.

New sections have been added to the Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB) and Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary (SLMB) manual sections outlining the correct procedure to use when staffs receive these applications.

Review this memorandum with appropriate staff.
