DISCUSSION:
This memorandum provides clarification to MAGI Manual sections: 1805.030.15 Reasonable Compatibility and 1805.030.05 Income Evidence. This clarification includes how to treat information provided by The Work Number for MAGI based programs.
The Work Number serves two purposes when determining MAGI income.
- When determining current and ongoing eligibility, the Work Number is used as an electronic data source. If the attested amount is not Reasonably Compatible (RC) with the electronic data sources (including The Work Number), clarification of income should be obtained.
- Prior Quarter (PQ) financial eligibility is determined by using actual income received in each of the PQ months. Income verification is required for PQ months. The Work Number can be used as income verification when determining financial eligibility for the PQ months.
