DISCUSSION:
This memorandum introduces updates made to the CHIP Affordability Calculator. Updates include the following:
- Premium amounts to reflect July1, 2017 premium changes
- Addition of benefit level descriptions next to the FPL thresholds
FSD will determine if private insurance is affordable by using the CHIP Affordability Calculator. The process is outlined in policy and instructions on the CHIP Affordability Calculator. The calculator instructions have been updated to direct staff to copy/paste the calculator into the Comments in MEDES, rather than scanning a copy the virtual file room.
