CASE MANAGEMENT CODE SHEET  IM MANUAL REVISION #20
 
DISCUSSION:
The FUTURES System Code Sheet dated February 1995 is being revised to reflect data entry changes in the JOBS system.  The new Case Management Code Sheet includes additional codes, changes in code meanings, and removal of codes.

Following is an explanation of changes made in each section of the code sheet.

PROGRAM CODES

N-P Non-Pact

WORK REQUIREMENT CODES (Previously: FUTURES INDICATOR)

Removed:
N  Mandatory, volunteering for immediate participation
W  Custodial Parent, volunteer, exempt custodial parent age 19 or younger volunteering to participate.
J  Non-FUTURES participant in an approved FUTURES activity applying for or receiving FUTURES child care-Mandatory
 K  Non-FUTURES participant in an approved FUTURES activity applying for or receiving FUTURES child care-Exempt
Changed:
T  Custodial Parent-mandatory: custodial parent age 16-19 not attending school and not having a high school diploma or GED
TO
Teen parent under age 18, mandatory 

EXEMPTIONS

Removed:
02  Parent or other relative of a child under age six and no guarantee of child care available
04  Child or head of household age 16-19 attending full-time, an elementary, secondary, vocational, or technical school
05  Temporarily impaired by illness or injury that would prevent active participation; must be verified
08  Lives in a remote area
09  Required in the home
10  Working 30 or more hours per week and earning the equivalent of the Federal minimum wage
11  Pregnant; expected date of delivery within six months; must be verified
12  Full-time VISTA volunteer

NECESSARY ACTION:
  • Review this memorandum with appropriate staff.
  • A card stock supply of the revised code sheet is being sent to county offices in a separate mailing.
  • When card stock supply received, mark though CDJP under PROGRAM CODE and write WF by Work First.
  • File the New Casemanagement Code Sheet in the Temporary Assistance Manual as Appendix K.  (Appendixes H, I, and J forthcoming)
  • Additional copies of the code sheet may be obtained from the warehouse.
  • Destroy obsolete FUTURES SYSTEM CODE SHEET.
