IM-20  03/03/99  HCB WAIVER SERVICES AGE CRITERIA


SUBJECT:
HOME AND COMMUNITY BASED (HCB) WAIVER SERVICES AGE CRITERIA
 
DISCUSSION:
On February 16, 1999 the Department of Social Services received approval to lower the age criteria for individuals to receive Medicaid under Home and Community Based (HCB) waiver criteria to age 63.  This change is retroactive to January 1, 1999.  All other eligibility requirements for individuals to receive HCB waiver services remain the same.  Persons age 63 and 64 must meet permanent and total disability criteria.

This change only affects the HCB waiver program and DOES NOT apply to any other Medicaid Program using age 65 as an eligibility factor.
 
NECESSARY ACTION:
  • Apply this policy to HCB applications effective January 1, 1999.

    •  
  • Share this memorandum with appropriate staff as soon as possible.
