IM-39  04/09/99  FORMS MANUAL REVISION #11:  IM-4 METP, FS & WORK

SUBJECT:
FORMS MANUAL REVISION #11:  IM-4 METP, FOOD STAMPS & WORK

DISCUSSION:
The IM-4 METP, Food Stamps and Work, has been revised to reflect policy changes in the food stamp Missouri Employment and Training Program (METP).

Upon determining a food stamp applicant or a member of the applicant's household is a mandatory food stamp work registrant, the caseworker is required to explain to the individual the work requirements, the rights and responsibilities of work registered household members, and the consequences of failure to comply.  A notice is also required when a previously exempt household member or a new household member becomes subject to the work registration requirement and at recertification.  The IM-4 METP is designed to provide this notification to mandatory food stamp work registrants.  Begin using the revised IM-4 METP to notify mandatory food stamp work registrants of the work registration requirements, their rights and responsibilities, and the consequences of failure to comply.

An initial supply of the revised pamphlet will be sent to all county offices.  A copy of the brochure is attached to the hard copy of this memorandum.  Upon receipt of the new pamphlets, destroy the obsolete IM-4 METP (9/91) and begin using the revised pamphlet.
