IM-91  07/07/99  EBT SYSTEM UPGRADE

EBT SYSTEM UPGRADE
 
DISCUSSION:
The EBT system is scheduled to be upgraded on July 20, 1999, from 2:00 - 4:00 a.m.  The upgrade requires bringing down the system to migrate data from the old system to the new state-of-the-art system.  This upgrade allows faster and more effective service for EBT participants.

Transactions, including balance inquiries and voucher authorizations, cannot be processed.  Participants will receive the message "host unavailable" when attempting to complete transactions during this time.

Emergency vouchers will be in effect up to $40.00.  Cash transactions cannot be completed until the upgrade is complete.  Deluxe is notifying retailers and third party processors.
 
NECESSARY ACTION:
  • Discuss this memorandum with all appropriate staff.

  • Explain the EBT upgrade to participants who contact the county office regarding the availability of the EBT system.
