SUBJECT:

INCREASE IN CHILD CARE INCOME GUIDELINES

REFERENCE:

CHILDREN'S DIVISION AND FAMILY SUPPORT DIVISION

DISCUSSION:

Effective July 1, 2007, the income guidelines used in determining family eligibility for child care assistance will increase to 127% of the Federal Poverty Level. The highest levels of incomes are adjusted for every household size bracket. The new income eligibility chart is attached pdf logo.

For Child Care actions processed in June, FAMIS will use the current income guidelines when determining eligibility for the June 2007 benefit month and the new income guidelines for July 2007 benefits or later.

For Child Care adverse actions due to excess income effective for July 2007, staff must complete a July budget to determine if the EU remains eligible based on the new income guidelines.

The Child Care income guidelines are available as a .pdf document on the Department of Social Services website in the 'Programs and Services for Children' section at https://dss.mo.gov/pr_cs.htm

NECESSARY ACTION:

  2. Take appropriate action for pending adverse actions due to excessive income.
