Individuals enrolled in Medicare cannot also received Managed Care. If someone receiving Medicare requests coverage under a Family MO HealthNet program, they will not be allowed to enroll in managed care. The individual will be automatically opted out and placed under fee-for-service.
This issue should be discussed with the individual. Some medical professionals will not accept fee-for-service patients. If individuals need assistance finding fee-for-service providers, refer them to the MO HealthNet Fee-For-Service Provider Search engine.
