RSMo 209.040 provides: “pensions to the blind as provided herein shall not be payable to a blind person unless such person has been declared ineligible to receive aid under the Federal Supplemental Security program.” BP applications will not be approved until the person has been found ineligible for SSI or it has been verified that he/she has too much cash, available resources, or income to be eligible for SSI.
