Active participants in a Premium Group who fail to pay a premium are not subject to a penalty period, however, coverage does not begin until the initial premium has been paid. Eligibility will remain open through the child’s Continuous Eligibility for Children (CEC) period but coverage will not begin until the MO HealthNet Division (MHD) receives their initial premium.
Note: Failure to pay a premium is not a valid closing reason for children who are in their Continuous Eligibility for Children (CEC) period. Refer to 1805.070.00 Continuous Eligibility for Children (CEC).
