METP components are offered by the Division of Workforce Development (DWD) for mandatory or voluntary work registrants. Food stamp recipient records with currently receiving and closure are sent in an overnight batch to DWD indicating ABAWD or  Volunteer (which includes exempt ABAWDs) as the status.

DWD offers the following components which counts toward the ABAWDs 80 hour requirement to continue to receive Food Stamp benefits:

    • Non-staff assisted job search including jobs.mo.gov

    • Paid Work Experience
    • Employment
    • Job Shadowing
  • Job Search Training
    • Career & Skills Assessment
    • Work Keys Assessment
    • Career Planning
    • Workforce Preparation
    • Job Readiness Training
    • Labor Market Information
    • Career Guidance
    • Pre-Post Employment Training Workshops

The DWD also offers the following services which do not count toward the ABAWDs 80 hour requirement:

  • Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Career Service Registration:  An introduction and orientation to engage the participant in Job Center services designed to accomplish the purpose of the Employment and Training program.  For DWD, each METP participant must:
    • Be enrolled in WIOA Adult Career and Wagner-Peyser registration services;
    • Complete an initial skills assessment;
    • Receive an orientation to Job Center services;
    • Be provided Labor Marker information; and
    • Begin an Employment Plan.
