Verification that an individual is eligible for certified extended employment at a sheltered workshop must be obtained prior to excluding the income for Medical Assistance. Accept any of the following as verification:
- pay stubs from the sheltered workshop;
- a letter from DESE or the sheltered workshop stating the individual is employed by the sheltered workshop or is eligible for extended employment at a sheltered workshop;
- a DESE form certifying eligibility for extended employment at a sheltered workshop; or
- pay stubs or other documentation that shows the individual previously worked at a sheltered workshop.
