Electronic Verification System (EVS) sources provide information regarding participant assets such as real property, personal property, and the value of liquid assets held in banking accounts.
Whenever the EVS returns information that was not previously reported by the participant and which would cause ineligibility due to excess resources, staff must contact the participant to confirm the ownership and value of the resources prior to authorizing a discontinuation of coverage. Asset verification provided from the EVS regarding assets previously reported by the participant do not require additional contact with the participant unless staff question the information provided or need additional details for the eligibility determination.
