The Missouri Care Options (MCO) program is administered by the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS). The program offers information to Missouri citizens about making choices regarding the variety of long-term care options available. MCO offers home and community long-term care services to adults (18 years and older) who are MO HealthNet eligible, or potentially MO HealthNet eligible, and in need of assistance.
In some instances, individuals requesting vendor coverage may be referred to FSD by the DHSS as a result of the MCO screening.
Individuals who contact FSD because they are considering placement in a long-term care facility should be referred to the DHSS for a Missouri Care Options screening. These individuals may contact the Central Registry Unit for additional information (800-392-0210).
Note: Any individual who wishes to apply for public assistance must be allowed to do so, whether or not s/he is referred for a Missouri Care Options screening.
