Participants enrolled in eligible programs (i.e., high school, college, employment, job training, job skills training, and work experience) may continue to have their child(ren) authorized for child care during normally scheduled breaks, such as winter and spring breaks for an educational institution or a holiday shut-down for a manufacturing facility. The participant must provide documentation from the school, college, sponsoring agency, or employer indicating the participant will continue with the educational program, employment, or training immediately following the break.
Participants demonstrating a temporary change in need for care (i.e., vacation, medical leave, or maternity/paternity leave) may continue to have their child(ren) authorized for child care during the temporary change in need. The participant must provide documentation from a physician, employer, or other authoritative individual indicating the participant will continue the educational program, employment, or training immediately following the temporary absence
In either of these situations, if the child does not attend child care during the break, the regular absence policy applies
Documentation provided to support the continuation of child care during the situations described above must comply with 1210.010.020.15.05 VERIFICATION OF NEED, 1210.020.15.10 VERIFICATION OF EMPLOYMENT, and 1210.020.15.15 VERIFICATION OF EDUCATION OR TRAINING.
